Why is the scoop hand-wash only?
The handle isn’t waterproof — the electronics live in there, so the dishwasher is off the table. The good news: the ceramic head rinses clean under the tap in a few seconds. A quick rinse, a wipe on the handle, done.
How long does the battery last, and how do I charge it?
A full charge comfortably covers a family dessert session or two, and the LED shows the exact battery percentage — no guessing games. Charging is USB-C, the same cable as your phone. Top it up when the screen tells you to, and you’re set.
What’s the difference between ECO and High mode?
ECO heats to around 113°F — gentle and energy-sipping, perfect for gelato and sorbet. High goes to 149°F, which is what you want against a deep-frozen, rock-hard pint. The LED shows the live temperature, so you always know when it’s ready to glide.
Is it safe around kids?
There’s a safety lock so it can’t switch on by accident in a drawer, and it shuts off automatically after 10 minutes of no use. But let’s be honest: while it’s working, the heated head is genuinely hot. Keep it out of children’s reach during use, and let the scoop do the scooping — kids get the bowl.
What’s the difference between the 1.8 oz and 2.2 oz versions?
Same design, same features, same heating — the only difference is the bowl capacity: 1.8 oz vs 2.2 oz per scoop. If you’re feeding a bigger family or just take dessert seriously, go for the 2.2 oz Large. Everyone else is happy with the standard size.
Will it fit my car’s headrest?
Measure the inner distance between your two headrest metal rods first: the clamp fits rods spaced 4.6 to 6.2 inches apart. If your rods are outside that range, the mount won’t sit securely — better to know before ordering than after.
Why isn’t it rechargeable? That seems like a downgrade.
It’s deliberate. A lithium battery baking in a parked car all summer is a genuine safety risk, so we left it out entirely. The fan runs straight off your car’s 5V USB port — plug it in, and it works whenever the car does. A 5V ≥1A port is the minimum; 2A is ideal.
The fan feels weak or randomly shuts off. What’s wrong?
Almost always the power source. Some USB ports — especially in rear consoles — supply less current than the fan needs. Try a front-seat USB port, or a 5V/2A adapter. With enough juice, the speed and stability come right back.
Can I use it for my dog or a stroller seat?
Yes — honestly, that’s one of its best uses. Clip it near a pet carrier or stroller seat, run it on low speed, and it’s quiet enough not to bother anyone. Just remember it’s a breeze, not air conditioning: in extreme heat, it helps but doesn’t replace a cool environment.
